I'm debating upon whether I should go ahead and purchase a new V6 Toyota Tacoma now or should I wait a year after Toyota releases the 4th gen to buy a V6 Tacoma? It seems whether used or new they are basically the same price. Is it possible the price will go down after a year or would it go up?
If you absolutely need a new vehicle then get it now. I don’t think the values will shoot up or go down too much, especially since it’s the last year of the naturally aspirated V6. Also, certain trims like TRD Pro or Offroad could hold their values better.

If you get it now you get to enjoy the vehicle now rather than wait and wish.

Given the market for Toyotas nowadays, it makes sense to buy new. That being said, get it now if you can. I don’t see the advantage to waiting, especially if you can afford it now.

Yes that's true nobody can truly predict the actually outcome. Hopefully inflation doesn't go up too much. But if in anybody's experience is it better to buy used or new when it comes to Toyota Tacomas?
It's hard to predict the future of pricing. From the information I have right now, it looks like there are more cars on dealer lots, so pricing may not be as crazy as it was during the later stages of the pandemic. Go see if you can get a deal. If you can a new one at MSRP or below, that may be worth considering.
The other thing to take into account is interest rates. Interest rates have gone up significantly, so that may offset any price savings.

Definitely buy new if you want to buy one now. That v6 Tacoma has a proven track record so you'll get to keep the car for a long time if you maintain it properly. In this market if you can buy one at msrp that's a good deal; don't step away saying maybe you'll find something below msrp. This market brand new Tacoma at msrp is a great deal.
