Hey Scotty, I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi 120k miles, it has the 545rfe 4x4. I threw two codes last night out of nowhere P0700, and P0731. Its shifting weird, maybe slipping some.. Dies at stop signs but starts back. When accelerating, it surges some, when i punch it it jumps around. Last night it wouldn't shift into 5th gear, cleared codes and this morning it went into 5th but 1st was little rough. Any thoughts? Its had a couple of transmission shop trips last couple years-wiring harness fix, torque converter flash, few computer flashes due to erratic shifting. Has had fluid changed several times now. All was well and good until last night. Help!
It sounds like it has seen some repairs already and you've about gotten all the life out of it.
I would be considering a new vehicle or a new transmission at this point.
Is 120k really all you can expect to get out of them?
