2019 Lincoln Navigator. If there is an issue with your transmission will the light always come on? I have been hearing a dry rubbing sound and then a loud banging sound during acceleration. This happens intermittently I don't never know when it is going to happens. It just happens every day no matter what speed when I take my feet off The pedal the sound would either go away or quiet down. I can park the car and start it back up and the car will drive like normal. The next day I'll hear the sound again, which normally takes place after twenty minutes of a me driving. I took my car to 6 shops. No one heard the sound except for me. They think my car is a good running car and they don't see any problems. They don't believe I have a transmission issue. I believe I exhausted every concern except for the throttle. I really don't wanna be taken  Advantage of an told that it is a transmission issue. So I need to know will I have a light on or not?

Many problems can occur with a vehicle that will never trip a CEL so no, you should not count on a CEL alone to let you know there's a transmission problem.

Some do, some don't. My 1999 Ranger will flash the O/D Off-On light when the ECU detects a problem with the transmission. Check your owner's manual for transmission-related information.

A higher-level scan tool that can access transmission codes is required for proper diagnosis. The car's TCM has a certain tolerance level as its transmission wears out before tripping transmission-related codes.

Just so you know you posted 3 times. Make sure you only hit the submit button once. It may be slow but it’ll go through eventually.

Also try to put a little more than that in the title.
