I have a 2014 Honda Accord 4 cylinder automatic CVT transmission with 34,000 miles. The dealer suggests changing
the transmission fluid. I have watched your videos and I don't think I need to change the fluid yet. Maybe at 60,000
miles with no flush. I don't put many miles on the car so is there a time factor that overrides the mileage factor?
The Stealership suggested...should tell ya everything you need to know. I drain/refill to the mileage (30K) regardless of the age. This is most likely not needed but a whole bunch cheaper than a new tranny and a cheap insurance policy. We have cars that are over 10 years old, each over 100K on the clock and plan to keep them much longer.
Yes, it’s a little early, but it can’t hurt you. Do a full exchange of the fluid, all of it.
Stick with the exchange every 40k and your tyranny will last a very long time.
Check the owner’s manual for the exact mileage interval - it should have it in there. If it doesn’t, then 60K miles is a good time to have the fluid drained and filled. There’s no real time interval that it has to be changed - just go by mileage. Check to make sure the fluid is still full and if it is, your car is perfectly fine the way it is.
