Hi Scotty, I have a Lexus RX350 2008, I dont know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed, the car has 200000 miles and i am planning to change the fluid but can i just change the oil without putting in new filter because i dont have the proper tools or worried i am going to make a mistake and end up causing more problems. the car shifts good and there is no shake or slippage at all. Please help. I value your opinion. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your input joe, the car is automatic and i was wrong about the millage , its 130,000 miles . Yes, i have seen that video where Scotty talks about transmission fluid change that if you have no history of the vehicle leave it alone as long as it runs good.

I am not a professional. However, from my understanding, with that much mileage if it's ok I would not touch it. Scotty had a video on this. if the fluid is really dark, he advised not to touch it. That is what I remember. You can watch more of his videos.

Also on the other hand. Previous owners of my car once flushed it. The car was slipping a bit. I checked the fluid level. It was really low and I went to the Toyota dealership and bought transmission fluid and added very carefully to the limit on a level surface while the car was up and running. It saved my transmission. The idea of my story is it's a Toyota after all with an Aisin transmission. If you feel lucky you might get to pull it off with no problems too.

Hope this helps

I wish The previous owner would have changed the ATF in my Toyota matrix at 130,000 miles.
