If you want my advice as a rebuilder dip you finger in it and smell it if it smell a little burn change it along with the filter. Because when the red slowly starts turning yellow it means that the oils viscosity is not as great as it was new also you can do this also put the old oil in a cup and some new on an other and see if the older one looks a little watery if it does change it because its viscosity is no longer good

Those can go a lot longer I only change them every 60,000 but if you want do it yourself it's not that complex of a job watch my transmission fluid changing videos

It gets a little bit dirty at one point, as long as it has plenty of fluid in it, it's all good. Wait until 50,000 miles. He's trying to get your $$$.

Hello! Scotty,

I submitted a question yesterday...but, I don't think it went through. OK, I'm going to try again. A month ago I  bought a 2003 Honda Pilot LX Engine:3.5L V6 24V MPFI SOHC 165,290 after research...I discover that these vehicles are known for TRANSMISSION Problems. I was thinking about doing a transmission flush and then add AT-205 RE-SEAL...but, I was told not to do the 'flush' by a mechanic. He said the old fluid keeps it running and if one do a flush(put in new fluid) it can cause serious transmission problem. Have you heard anything like that before? and what do you say about doing a 'FLUSH'?

Well there are MANY MANY MANY people say different things out the as a rebuilder imma tell you This Hondas love transmission oil changes and you will save the transmission rather than damage it
the pilots suffer from two things the converters going bad and they have a pressure tube that gets hot and brakes just drain the old oil and new drive it for a week and do it again and then after one more week ones more and the system should be fully clean and it will drive like new the reason this happens is because the honda transmissions are sealed and there is no way for you to get the the filter and thats why they get damaged! So drain it 3 times ones every week and you will forget about the transmission issue
