I have replaced the Transmission fluid in my 2010 Camry 2.4L with the genuine Toyota at around 142000Kms. I put the same amount of fluid that came out.
I don't know if this fluid was ever replaced by the previous owners or this level is as per original manufacturer. The transmission is running great and I own this vehicle since it was 135000Km, never had issues with the transmission although the level showed on the deep-stick was always like this. I could notice slight improvement in shifting gears after changing the TRX fluid. I am concerned if the level of TRX fluid is too high will this can affect the transmission in the long run?
My question is why the deep-stick is showing that the fluid exceeds with around 4cm above the high level mark on the deep-stick and is this can be normal?
Thank you!
which model... 2.4L, 2.5L, 3.5L?
manual? automatic?
2.4L from his previous question. I’m assuming AT from the way he worded his question.
did you check the level according to the instructions in the owner's manual?
If so, then drain some out.
No info found in the owner's manual regarding the transmission. I only found details for engine, steering, breaks, radiator oil/fluids levels, types etc. but nothing regarding the transmission. Thank you!
Shame on Toyota.
Luckily the procedure is all over the internet.
And yes, too much fluid can destroy your transmission.
I didn't think the 2010 had a dipstick since they changed to 6 speed, but here it is for a 2009 model

What are you referring to? - https://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/TRX
TRX technically refers to transmission probably not so much in mechanical terms...
that's the 1st I've seen it written that way
Make sure the ground is level.
Check the transmission fluid level in the morning before making the first run with the car. Then check the transmission fluid level again after running the car for about 15 mins. It should not exceed range. Also check if the dip stick is the original dip stick. The fluid level is very sensitive. Need to be near the high mark.
If exceed, join several straws together and suck it out.
