Hi Scotty, I have an 04 Dodge Grand caravan, I saw your videos AFTER buying it lol, with 176,000 miles. I'm just getting into working on cars and fixing them so I have very little troubleshooting experience. While accelerating, if you don't gun it, it shifts just fine up til going from 3rd to 4th, it fights like heck to upshift, it'll also fight if you try to cut someone off as if the van is trying to teach you some manners lol. In all my research and whatnot it seems like it's the shift solenoid. My question is this, not worrying about money or time, should I replace the shift solenoid or since it has so many miles should I just replace the whole transmission? I can get a trans for pretty close to the same price as a new shift solenoid, thank you in advance for your help. Also, thank you for all your videos, they have showed me fixing cars is learn-able and have helped me so much!

If that were true.. you wouldn't replace the either, you'd replace the Caravan.
the transmission is worn out
Yeah, change the solenoid and pray
I did just that, helped a little, I realize what this may mean. Thank you for your help I really do appreciate it!
