Transmission Shifts Weird and Jolts During Acceleration

Yesterday I posted about a weird sound coming from my tires and I mostly solved the problem thanks to Scotty. Another problem I've had for quite some time is the transmission shifting odd. Often when accelerating from lower speeds, I have to push the pedal to about halfway down to get it to shift into the next gear properly. Even then it holds at about 2100 rpm before it shifts. Also at almost any speed I go the transmission occasionally searches for gears and I see the revs bouncing up and down. I drive a 2003 Lexus ES300 automatic with just about 180,000 miles on the clock. Thank you for any help in advance.

Sounds like your transmission is wearing out. You need to take this to a mechanic you trust and have them look it over and see what can be done if anything. GL

@jacksonishere
Oh boy, where I live there aren't too many mechanics around but I'll try and find a good one. Is there any harm to the rest of the vehicle if I were to drive it until the transmission becomes a true danger?

No just be easy on it and drive it till it fails and then best to look for something else because replacing one is really expensive.

Okay, thank you. Will do.
