Transmission Slipping

2010 Toyota Camry LE 2.5L - 4 cylinder automatic.  151k miles.  Original transmission fluid.  When cold, the transmission slips when shifting into second gear at 15 mph at part throttle.  $199 at dealership to change the transmission fluid.  Should I take the risk and change the fluid?

With that kind of mileage, it's best you not change the fluid. Changing it at this point will most likely make the slipping worse. Like Zander916 said, use the stop slip and start saving towards a new car. That transmission is going and you may get quite a bit of use from it before it finally gives out but start saving your pennies for that rainy day.

No. I would definitely leave the fluid in there.

You can go to an independent mechanic and have them put in Lucas stop slip. (Remove the amount of fluid that Lucas will replace)

Short of rebuilding, that's the best that you can hope for.

I ordered the Lucas Oil Stop Slip from Amazon.  It will be here tomorrow.  24mm bolt behind the driver's front wheel.  Suck out 24 oz.  Squirt in 24 oz of the stop leak.
