Hello Scotty,

I have two questions.

1. My dad just bought a Nissan Navara/Frontier NP300 with the 7 speed auto. Its got a big warranty of 5 years and 100000 miles. I was taken aback by this, as you usualy say Nissans are crap. Is the transsmision going to last a few years past warranty?

2. So, ive been getting mixed answers from the internet. Im a new driver in europe, where we have a lot of diesel engines. Is it bad to just put the key in the igniton and turn it to start in a diesel? And a gas? Thanks very much for the answers!

I have an answer for your second question. It is bad to start a diesel with just turning the key. Diesel engines use glow plugs for one thing and that is to start it, if they do not get warm enough to start it then your diesel engine will run like crap until it gets to temperature. Gas engines on the other hand operate with spark plugs which is why you can just put the key in the ignition and start it up right away because the spark plugs is what ignites the fuel while in diesel engines the compression is what ignites it not the glow plugs.
