Hi Scotty! I've got a Saab 93 aero with a 2.0 turbo from 2001 (gasoline). The heater won't blow warm air while standing still, when I'm driving it's fine but when I stop it blows cold. Sometimes it blows cold all the time except for when I turn it up all the way so the temperature it displays doesn't match the air temperature comeing out.
It has the digital automatic system with a screen. I've already replaced the heater core.
Any ideas?
Thanks from Belgium!
If you have access to an infrared thermometer, use it to read the temperature of the heater core inlet and outlet hoses at both idle and while revved to 2000 rpms. Check the temperatures to see if they are near engine operating temperature. If the coolant passageway is restricted you can experience this condition. Also if the impeller on the water pump is corroded away it will give same results.
