Hi, Scotty! My husband and I are Big fans! Whenever there is car work to be done, you can rest assured that plenty of your videos have been watched to help out with the jobs, and there have been many! Amongst the latest job, has been on my husband's 2001 Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT. It has a manual transmission 7.3 engine, and around 225k miles. The clutch was going out and needed to be replaced. We bought a whole new clutch kit and he put it in. Along with that, he also changed out the master and slave cylinder with a prefilled system. The problem is, he got everything put back together, and cranked the truck up only to realize that the truck wouldn't go into any gear at all. He thought, "Perhaps something wasn't quite right when I put the new clutch in," so he dropped the transmission back down and carefully inspected everything again. Everything, new clutch and all, seemed to be okay, torqued everything to specs, everything was installed as it should be, so he took his time to make sure he carefully installed the transmission back into place properly, and with fingers crossed, he tried it again. Again, the truck is not going into any gear at all. He and I both have been watching every video we can and reading up as much as possible on it. We cannot figure out where he's gone wrong. We can't figure out the problem here. This truck is essential to our big family. We have 4 kids and it's his daily driver. He works out of town and is expected to be 5 hours away from home tomorrow, which will now probably not be happening. I am just a stay at home mom. Please help if you have any idea of what could be wrong. We're at a complete standstill. He's done his very fair share of mechanic work, though he isn't a mechanic, and hasn't ever encountered this problem before. We appreciate your time in reading this and hope you have an idea that could be helpful! Thanks!

Make sure the clutch hydraulics are bled and working properly.

Probably not the cause of your issue but maybe worth double checking - I had a problem like that quite a few years ago after replacing a clutch. I could not figure it out, checked the installation, bled the hydraulic system several times, but the clutch still would not work.

I finally had someone else look at it that noticed I had installed the clutch disc backwards!

Hi, Chuck! I appreciate your response! I double checked the clutch to make good and sure I had installed it exactly as it should be, especially after having to drop the transmission down the second time. (It is not an easy task by any means with the space I have to work in.) I am going to check the tc linkage to see if that could be the issue. Ultimately, I'd love not to have to drop the transmission down a third time.... Again, I appreciate your response and welcome any and every thought on the matter. With any luck, we'll get it fixed!
