I have a 2012 mazda 3i touring with the 2.0L Skyactiv engine with 165k miles. I have an oil change coming up and I'm wondering if I should change my transmission fluid with it. I've heard Scotty say if you leave it too long it isn't a good idea so I'm just wondering if it's too late or if I should change it now? Car has no mechanical problems under normal use. Also, I'm looking for a place to get good, inexpensive tools so I can start doing regular maintenence myself (fluid changes, tire rotation, filters, etc.)
Thanks!

If it’s reddish pink, change it.
If it’s dark brown or black, don’t change it.
Your playing with what we call the friction game.....
Has it ever been changed? What does it look like? Clear redish, darker redish, brownish burnt?
Good and inexpensive is just about as opposite as you can get when talking about tools. Get good ones, cheaper in the long run (I have tools probaly 50ish years old). Besides being a pain to use (tool dependent), they break and can break things. So pick up good tools, even one at a time when you need them. At least that's what I've learned and done.
I would probably leave the fluid at this point as long as you don't have any issues or burning smell.
Also, Hillbilly is right on the tools. If you buy cheap, you tend to buy more than if you just bought one good one.
