Hi Scotty,
I would like to ask a question relate to the title that one of my friend carelessly tried to jump start my Hyundai Sonata 2015 improperly by put the negative to my battery car. It caused the sparks few times when I did the ignition, however luckily my battery was not exploded that time But I am not sure my battery was messed up and could be exploded later on or not?
Looking forward your response.
Thank you for your help.
Jason
Are you saying the jumper cables were attached with the wrong polarity? If so, fried electronics are likely. On modern cars it is best to use a lithium-ion jump starter with polarity protection rather than old-school jumper cables.
Does the car start and run?
I agree with Chuck. I don't even carry jumper cables anymore, just a jump starter in each car.
