I am seeking a crossover or small SUV, manual transmission, ideally six speed. Looking for high ground clearance but not full-size. Below is what I am finding, any advice or direction is greatly appreciated!

Fiat 500x or L under 30k miles (carmax)

Nissan Juke under 80k miles (carmax)

Honda HR-V 70k miles (carvana)

Ive heard alot of bad things about both carmax & carvana. Id try to go private party and have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection.

Of those cars provided, avoid the fiat like the plague. I cant say much about the Juke, from my understanding their auto/CVT transmissions are typically the weak point, dont know how their manuals are. But that could be decent & cheap. I like HR-Vs, thats probably the best overall vehicles there, but probably costs the most too.

Another option to consider is the Subaru Crosstrek. Alot of people like them, their boxer, manual trans, and awd system is tried & true.

Another vote here to consider the Subaru Crosstrek. CVTs are the weakest point on Subarus but you don't have to worry about that with a standard shift. Forget the Fiat. It's junk. The Nissan Juke - maybe all right with a stick shift but Nissan quality overall has not been very good. Lots of Renault DNA in most current Nissan vehicles.

Additionally, Carvana has a really bad reputation and is near bankrupt. Carmax charges about the highest prices around. Both have become major dumping grounds for people looking for an easy way to get rid of bad cars.
