I am planning to buy used 7-Seater SUV (2016-17) in BC, Canada. Need your suggestion which one should I go for.
What's wrong with a Toyota Sequoia? Plenty of space, very well built. MPG is not so great but that's going to be a trade off for any large SUV.
It would be my recommendation.

Highlanders are also excellent vehicles. Nothing wrong with them. 
What is your opinion on Mazda CX-9, On Carscomplaint.com Complaints for Mazda CX-9 are way lesser than Toyota Highlander (is that due to less people own Mazda CX-9) not sure
The newer CX-9's are a better quality item than the older ones that's for sure. But for overall quality I would go with the Highlander. There are a lot less Mazdas out there than Toyotas for sure.
The Highlander is a great SUV as well. Especially the 2017 2018 years they are newer modern and could have third row seating I would consider that as well.

Budget permitting, what about the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser? esp. good if you like to go off the beaten path every now and then.
