Trunk Cupholders...? TOYOTA

Hey Scotty, I drive a ‘06 Toyota Solara and after cleaning out the trunk when I bought it I noticed cupholders in the trunk.  Any idea why they put those in there (I checked it’s stock)? Many thanks.

I've never seen this. Do you mean the cupholders for the backseat? When the armrest is folded up, you can see them on some models from the trunk vertically.


When I looked this up I found that it is only in some years of the Camry and Solara.
It isn't fully in the image but look at the bottom left:

Do you think it is for storage? I can't think of a reason to have cup holders there. Thanks for looking that up.


I am confused. The first thing I wrote was "cup holder in trunk" and a bunch of reddit questions came up of an old Camry with a cup holder. Someone there suggested it could be for wine or something. imo it is totally useless for anyone who understands physics but then again the car world is strange. It mostly likely is for carying bottled drinks in the back. . .
