[Solved] Used Toyota Sienna good or bad deal?

  1. Hey Scotty, I love watching your videos. My brother recently purchased a used 2005 Toyota Sienna CE with 257000km (159692.396 miles) from a private seller. It has a bit of wear and tear on the body, most notably the front doors make popping sounds when opened. There’s NO problems with the engine and transmission. Personally I feel the mileage is too high especially since his 2001 Sienna lasted till 247000 km (153478.684 miles) it had engine misfire problems (not due to spark plugs or coils) probably due to the catalytic converters and it had some transmission jerks once on the last speed. Also I live up in Canada so cars wear out faster here. So since Toyota used the same 3.3 litre engine for both cars was this a good deal for him?

As @yaser said, it all depends on the mechanical condition of the vehicle. If serviced regularly, those vehicles can last well past 500,000 kms.

So if your brother bought one which has a good engine & tranny, it still has atleast half its life remaining.

Good luck!

They are good cars and they can last a really long time. Actually, Siennas are the best vans here in the US. With that being said, hopefully the car was checked by a mechanic before purchase.
