My sister bought a vehicle from carmax it was a 2015 Mazda 6.
she noticed a few weeks after driving the car that it was missing some features then we noticed that the windshield got replaced because it didn't have the Mazda badge on the window info unlike the back window or the side windows.
Because it was replaced with an aftermarket front window they also replaced the rear view mirror with a aftermarket one. The OEM mirror had a sensor for collision detection in front of the vehicle.
How would she go about in trying to get reimbursements or some kind of restitution?
I'm going to take a guess, and you probably don't have a leg to stand on. I would read through the contract before doing anything.
Carmax could have purchased it that way, and even if they did replace it I'm guessing their policy would be to not use OEM parts.
A lawyer.
I should add that you should carefully read the fineprints of your contract with Carmax. The other thing is that I doubt they specify that the car comes with the OEM parts. Have your mechanic checked the car?
If it was advertised and it is in the fine print, go to CarMax and try to work a deal. if the deal is not suitable to you get a lawyer or go to small claims court.
If it was disclosed in the fine print, there probably isn’t much you can do.
What did Carmax say about it?
