Looking to get a car and here are some questions:
- Go w/ Push start or key ignition and why?
- I know Scotty made a video about it 7 years ago and he really didn't like them, but have things changed since technology "advanced"
- Are there any websites or scotty's videos to help determine the what a vehicle is worth and that I am actually getting a good deal (aside from physical inspections). I only know about KBB and Carfax, but those unfortunately get skewed by the inflation unless I'm wrong
- Compact vs SUV's: Aside from size, any recommendations and why. Trying to convince my mother expand beyond SUV's?
Thanks!

key!
and why?
the button stops working... Now what do you do?

tons. autotrader, craigslist, kijijiautos, eBay motors, your local newspaper, word of mouth ...
and that I am actually getting a good deal
I'm confused.
You want a good deal (for you) ... but you want someone ELSE to tell you what it is?
How old is your mom? If she is old, key for sure. If she is younger, then button will suffice.
Also if she is older, consider looking for cars with traditional shifters, rather than knob and button shifters.
I know older people have trouble with the push button start and new shifters. It confuses them. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
But if your mom is younger then, button start and new shifters shouldn’t be a problem.

you want to see confusion? watch a young person try to diagnose their new push button car 🙄

For real confusion watch a typical young person confronted with a stick shift. For that matter, if they had to get behind the wheel of something really old with some of the wacky transmissions that used to be around their heads would probably explode.

If your mom wants and SUV or a compact SUV, let her get one. Just make sure it is one that is reliable. That matters more to me than form factor, IMHO.
Has she mentioned any makes or models that she is interested in?
