I have a 1993 Chevrolet Corvette, base model, ZF 6 speed, coupe.
I've wanted one of these since I was a kid, and finally bought one used with around 90k miles on the clock.
Since I've bought it it has had a pretty severe vibration, through the whole vehicle not just the steering wheel, at around 78-85 mph.
Additionally there is sometime a clink when i first go to take off in 1st gear from a stand still.
My initial thought was U-Joints, so I replaced the two on the prop shaft, as well as the two on each rear half shaft.
After finally getting it buttoned up with new U-Joints, both the vibration at higher speed, and the clink, remain.
Any advice as to what the issue may be?
Thanks for the help,
Hunter
If your U-joints are OK, check your tire balancing. This usually causes vibration at high speed. You probably threw a balance weight.
It may be the prop shaft out of balance. Yes, that's a thing. What I would do is put it on a lift or jackstands. Run the engine/trans up to speed and you should get a better idea of where it is coming from, and you can check for where the clink is coming from.
