Hey Scotty,
I have been watching your YouTube channel for awhile and I was wondering if you could do a video comparing recent (say within the last 5yrs) v8 versions of the F-150, Ram 1500, and one of the GM half tons. Pros and cons of each truck, common problems, and which you would purchase if you were to buy a recent one. Basically an American truck comparison that focuses on their v8 models, from the perspective of a seasoned mechanic.
Things like: Do they have reliable engines? reliable transmissions? Are their common issues? Are the issues that do come up serious ones? Or mainly minor? Are their good things about them? Has the brand’s reputation been taking a good or bad turn in the last few years? Essentially things people looking for a new/new-ish truck would want to know.
And if there is time, with ford’s addition of 8-to-4 cylinder deactivation in their f-150 v8 engine in 2021, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on that as well, and how you think it compares to the one in the Hemis, and whatever GM uses.
Thanks,
Ron
