I recently purchased a 2007 Volvo XC70 with 113,000 miles on it. I am wondering what I should be watching out for on the car. I have been driving it around the past few days and it runs great, shifts great, and there are no odd nosies.
You got one of the last solid Volvos out there:

Take care of it and it should last. The transmissions were a bit weak on the earlier years but the AISIN transmission in the 07 is pretty solid. Keep up on oil changes, transmission fluid changes...
Honestly its got pretty low miles. I see the 2000s XC70s on craigslist with 250 300k miles all day long. Now those aren't worth much and generally have some problems so I personally would enjoy it, take care of it, and drive it into the ground.
how often would you recommend changing the transmission fluid?
I would check your owners manual, it should give you an interval. If it doesn't specify or says "life-time" then check out the FAQ article on when should I change my ATF fluid? Generally 40-50k miles is the consensus. Stronger transmissions Scotty has given up to 60 70k miles while weaker transmissions 30k miles...
ok thanks

Your welcome have fun with your new ride!
Probably a good idea to change the center and rear differential fluid and service the Haldex (sometimes called the Haldex coupling) which is often overlooked because it a pain to service.
Here’s also a list of potential issues other owners have cited: not meant to be comprehensive and not a guarantee you will encounter it, but something to be aware of.

** that second link has a link to recalls and TSBs as well.
I have a 2007 Volvo XC70 with 138k miles on it. The only issues I had were the AWD (haldex control module replaced and pump rebuild) and that fixed it. Kept getting check engine lights even when the sensors were replaced. Had engine ecu replaced and reprogrammed, turned out it was actually a bad starter drawing too many amps. Other than that and having the alternator and battery replaced, changing fluids, it's been a very good car. Very good in the snow as well.
