Hi Scotty and everyone who is reading this.

My VW Golf Mk5 headlamps were giving me trouble. Got new ones and my mechanic messed up and caused electric fault that burnt the wires in a loom all the way to steering. Managed to find electrician who has replaced loom from a donor car. All the electrics are back now, headlights working but car won’t start. Help please to get me out of this hole. Don’t want to give up on a car with only 125k km.

Thanks

Go to that mechanic that messed up and MAKE HIM repair it.

I'm afraid your car will have electrical gremlins for the rest of it's life,

for now get a proper all-system scan tool and check what modules are offline - or if there's even CAN.

I suspect he might have burned a BCM or ECM and that's going to cost $$$-$,$$$.
