Hi There, hopefully someone can help me out on this issue. I have a 2013 Honda Accord Coupe V6 EX-L Navigation. I had some amazon interior aftermarket footwell lights installed into the fusebox below the steering wheel. The main power wire was connected inside The blue #15 fuse (ACG), with a ground wire from the lights attached to a ground wire that was connected to most probably the chassis. When I was removing the lights to install new ones. I ended up removing all the Aftermarket Lights, and ignorantly put the Ground wire from the chassis into Fuse #15, and tried starting my car. When I tried starting it, it ended up smoking/melting the wire (The smoke came from under the steering wheel) and I immediately shut the car off, and removed the wire. Now my car is unable to start up and in the tachometer it says "FCW Failed" which I'm assuming is a false positive failure the car is throwing up due to some electrical shortage, and the car is unable to get out of the 'Park' Position. I took it to a mechanic and he said that when he plugged his scanner tool into the OBD2 port, it was not communicating with the vehicle, and therefore blamed it on the ECU saying my ECU has failed. Any idea what the issue might be? I'm assuming It might have shorted one of the vehicle components that are connected to Fuse #15 (ACG), or I might need a replacement fusebox unit
I can just about guarantee you ecu has been damaged. Those things can't take hardly any power off and that's shorted out directly. And almost certainly is destroyed it. But you could check all the wiring for something else went but the computer will almost always fry before a wire will
