VW Jetta 2,5 Wolfsburg edition 2007 USA version - actually in EUROPA

Dear Scotty

I'm quite give up with polish ASO mechanics !

Since a few months have same problem I spend over 500 EURO for it already.

My VW Jetta when I tank a gasoline, doesn't want to start the engine after this process. I must push a little a right foot on the gas pedal. When I start all after is ok. I can off and start the engine thousand of times until next gasoline station pit stop for a tank a fuel. And it is same as above (doesn't matter or I tank full, 5 liter or 30 liter).

I check and exchange fuel cap, must wait 3 weeks from sending this from USA, after that they check - so they says that but I'm doubt on it - like: fuel tank and filler neck, charcoal canister, EVAP hoses, EVAP/Canister vent valve solenoid and EVAP/Canister purge valve. And nothing....!!!!

On display I have 2 errors: icon of fuel cap, which quick disapired, and after that check engine which doesn't want to disapired even after 30-60 starts of engine.

Myself bought OBDII and is only in this car 1 irregullation:

"P0455 Evaportative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)"

Please help, have nobody who can solve it!

Best regards,

Rafal

It's exhibiting all the symptoms of a leaking Purge Valve. (I know you said they replaced it)

Why not get a cheap pair of hose pinch-off pliers and pinch shut the purge valve hose the next time you refuel?

Now you'll want to make sure you're pinching off the right hose so when you have some time at home, pull up the plastic engine cover and look at the purge valve and follow the hose over to the area by the windshield washer reservoir.

Make a paint mark or put a zip tie on that hose in an area you'll be able to get to so you can easily identify the right hose when the engine cover is back on at the gas station.

Then the next time you go to the gas station, BEFORE you put any gas in it, pinch that hose closed tight. Then gas up and with the hose still pinched closed see if it starts up easily. When you're done with the experiment (no matter the result) take the hose pinch pliers off BEFORE you drive away from the gas station.

I traced over the Purge valve hose in Red. Circled the Purge valve in Purple. And put a Green arrow pointing to the part of the hose by the windshield washer reservoir that will be accessible with the engine cover on.

You can get a cheap pair of plastic hose pinch pliers at an automotive parts store or amazon/ebay. You can even use a clamp or anything else you have that will pinch the hose tightly closed and keep it closed for the duration of the experiment.

The large leak in evap could possibly cause your issue but I feel it's unlikely. I would first figure out what's causing it just in case that is your issue. The gas cap, faulty canister, purge valve line broken not hooked up or any other evap hoses not hooked up or broken can throw that code. A broken filler neck, cracked gas tank can also throw that code. Go back over everything in evap and double check nothing is broken or left unconnected. I Never really heard of this before. If it only happens when you get gas the only thing I can think of is a dirty tank. When you add gas you stir up the grim and other crud, it gets sucked up and  temporary blocks the filter, line and injector. Im not 100% sure as I never really heard of this happening but that would be my best guess.

Flushing the tank to clean everything out and running Chevron techron at double strength to help clean the rest of the system. Could possibly fix it. That's if a dirty tank is the problem.

I'm sure someone will answer who has a better idea or knows what's going on
