I have a 2002 vw passat. It has several misfire codes, on the cylinders. My mechanic told me to just drive it like that, which I am, but the power seems a bit less. It has 120,000 miles ? I am thinking because it doesnt have chromed pistons like a japanese car, that it wont last that long. Am I right ? Any help greatly appreciated. Mechanic checked the plugs and did some other stuff, but could not fix it, he gave up. Its never been as fast or smooth as the other passats I have seen also, couldnt figure out that mystery either.

Anyone that tells you to just drive with misfires is a bleeping idiot.
Find one who actually knows how to fix cars.
