Depending on how old you're talking about, it is a good idea to let everything warm up and get lubricated before driving off.

it's probably good for those old antique cars

A small tick at idle for the first 5  minutes of idle if you arent already reversing and driving after the first 30 seconds it has, not 100 percent smooth as it gets warmed up at first.

A good question is does castrol magnatec really work or any product like that

In older cars, the internal tolerances were much larger and you needed more time to get up to temp for material expansion.  And the materials themselves just weren’t as good (metallurgy).

But more important, engine lubrication was more passive and it took more time for everything to get thoroughly oiled (for example, the modern Toyota 3.5L V6 has oil jets that spray the pistons).  Running an old, cold engine hard could really do some damage.

That's why I don't like any random mechanic, they abuse your engine, can never fix a hydraulic issue without restoration ordered.
