Hey scotty I have a 2001 dodge 1500 sport 4x4 5.2l it has 197k miles on it I bought it not too long ago for 2 grand I've put 1k miles on it so far it runs great but was wondering what types of issues are common on these trucks and what I might run into
What generally the transmissions are the first thing to wear out but at least you got an older one when they were better made now they're made like junk especially since Fiat took over

Interior things like the dashboard cracking should be common. The ones back then were better made but the quality isn't the best. The transmissions are also on the wea side. $2000 isn't much so just drive it into the ground most likely until the transmission gives up.
