[Solved] Washing fluid in brake fluid container.

My car is a 2007 Toyota Blade, I mistakenly put some washer additive and water into the top of the brake fluid container, I realised my mistake and used a Turkey baster to pull it back out and I think the plastic cover further into the container might have stopped it as the level never went down from the gap above the second plastic cover (which I didn't see at the time). Do I need to get my brake fluid flushed or did the plastic cover thing save my ass?.

The plastic strainer didn't save your ass. You'll need to clean out and flush the brake system, fill and re-bleed.

That looks like a strainer to keep debris out. Washer fluid would go right through that.

As long as you don't operate the brakes then you're probably fine. You just need to completely empty, clean, and refill the brake fluid reservoir. If you did drive around then you need to bleed the whole brake system.

Thanks guys, I had to drive for about 3 hours yesterday to get it fixed,  took it to the mechanic and got it flushed and re-bled. Should it be good now?

Good. Hopefully no harm done. Glad you got right on it
