Hello,

I drive 2014 Honda CRV and drove over a big puddle. I opened up the hood and some parts are wet. I cannot name all of them because not sure which is.

is it okay to spray WD-40 everywhere where wet under the hood?

Post a photo here, circling all the wet parts.

I wouldn't . WD40 just going to leave a sticky film on everything, which will then attract dirt coat everything in grime.

The engine bay has to be be able to withstand getting a bit wet. There are gaps everywhere where water sprays up when it rains.

All the electrical connectors have weather seals. So unless the car was submerged or sprayed with high pressure, the water will just dry off and you'll be fine.

You can use it to repel water from electronic parts. For the rest of the car, it is just waste of money. Also make sure you change the air filter just to be on the safe side.
