Weird headlight issue

I have a 2010 Toyota RAV4 sport with the four-cylinder engine.

Last week on my way home to work, both high beams stopped working. The bulbs do not appear to be burned out, so I thought perhaps my issue was with a relay. I ordered relays because I wanted the denso parts and I didn't think that I would do much driving at night outside of town in the next couple days.

The day before I get my relays, my fog lights also stop working. My DRLs seen unaffected. After attempting to change the relays, I was unable to make either the fog lights or the high beams start functioning again. I checked every headlight fuse I could locate and all of them functional.

Is there a likely wiring issue? Am I going to have to replace the headlight switch on the steering column? I'm kind of at a loss for what to do here.

Yes, probably.  But make sure your grounding wires to the headlights and fog lights are clean and tight before throwing parts at the problem.

Test the headlight and dimmer switches.
