When I charge my 2008 BMW 335i coupe with a battery maintainer. A weird sound comes from the rear of the car near the battery/fuel pump. The battery is dead.

pull the fuel pump fuse and see if it goes away

The fuel pump relay could be stuck closed causing the noise (frying your fuel pump) and draining the battery.
