Hey Scotty, I was told my carburetor is on its way out. Hard to start but stays running once warmed up, sluggish acceleration. What is a good brand to buy and is it worth sticking to a 2 barrel or converting to a 4 barrel? Its not a race car, just a weekly driver.

You didn't say what engine you have, small block V8? Who told you your carb was bad? Have you checked other possible causes for those symptoms? (It's not unlikely on something that old but there are other potential issues that might be in play.)
Avoid cheap Chinese knockoffs sold on eBay or Amazon. I would also avoid parts store rebuilt carbs, those have always been the pits. You could consider rebuilding yours or sending it out to a professional rebuilder if the casting is OK. When rebuilding a carb that old you'd probably need bushings installed for the throttle shaft due to decades of wear.
