What Causes These Numbers on a Grand Cherokee?

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 294,000 miles on it. I got one of those Innova scan tools as a gift, and decided to try out the live data feature. While it has no trouble codes, it says I have a long term fuel trim of -6, spark ADV of 6-10deg at idle, and a throttle position of 16.1% at idle. The car is slow and gets bad gas mileage, but that may be par for the course with these. The only apparent symptom is a mild clacking that sounds almost like a diesel engine. What could be causing these numbers?

the numbers are meaningless without checking them against specifications.

What fuel economy are you getting? Have you tried replacing the air filter, cleaning up the intake or fuel system? Checked spark plugs?
