What do you think about the 2007 nissan murano (AWD), i'm looking at buying one and the transmission and engine run great at 160000miles. I even scanned it with a cheap scan tool and the information and codes are all good.
What do you think I should do buy it or look somewhere else?
I definitely think you should look somewhere else unless you are buying that car for dirt cheap just to get you by. I guarantee the CVT will start wearing out faster than you can say Scotty! At 160k miles I’m surprised if it hasn’t been on it’s 2nd transmission by now. Who knows, maybe it has. If you are serious about buying it I would check the service records to see if a new one has been put in. But either way the Nissan CVTs are the worst transmissions ever made, and you will eventually have problems down the road even if everything seems fine now.
I’ll pass, to many miles and tranny issues could happen at anytime.
You checked for codes for generic obd, not the entire system.
I would pay someone $100 to do a full scan of ALL modules and finally, don’t overpay if you really think it’s something you really want.
Look elsewhere. Nissans fall apart at that mileage and buying one like that would be playing with dynamite.
