Upon Inspection found te upper radiator hose burst and no coolant in the system. The alternator belt is shredded nd has fallen off the pullies. Spun the pullies by hand and felt for play. The only pully to have even a little bit of play is the water pump. To replace the water pump the engine needs to be removed and the timing chains replaced. A very labor intensive process. Due to the upper radiator hose being burst wide open, it is not possible to perform a block check. Upon checking the oil found it to be significantly over filled. There are also water droplets showing up on the dipstick. There is a significant possibility that this engine has overheated to the point of having blown headgasket. Water in the oil would be an indicator this has happened but we have no positive way to test for this with a torn open radiator hose. Scanned for codes and found P0117 engine coolant temperature sensor circuit low. P0335 CKP sensor circuit. P0340 CMP sensor performance. P2102 throttle actuator control motor circuit low. P1703 CAN data invalid TCM. We need to replace te radiator hoses, thermostat and gasket, alternator belt and oil change before anything else can be diagnosed. There is a significant possibility that more diagnosis and repair will be needed. cess. Due to the upper radiator hose being burst wide open, it is not possible to perform a block check. Took my 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara (125,000 miles) to the mechanic as it was not running properly. It would make a squealing noise after starting and last for a short while before going away. While driving last week I heard a “pop” and then steam/smoke started coming out from under the hood and it began to overheat. I drove 5mph to a nearby mechanic and left it with them. The response I just received is posted in code thread.
FYI - I bought this at auction not even a month ago; wish I would have seen your video on that before I made the purchase.
If the cost to fix <<< value of car, pay someone to fix it.
If the cost to fix <= value of car, learn to fix it yourself or junk it.
If the cost to fix >>> value of car, junk it.
Get a quote, it sounds like the car is falling apart and if its expensive to repair just get rid of it.
You're not going to like this...................... the same thing happened to me in my Taurus,
the radiator hose blew, drained all the coolant.
Fried the head gasket and blew the engine.
I hope you have better luck
