What should I look out for when buying a used 2005 Nissan Altima?

I am considering buying a used 2005 Nissan Altima with 83,000 miles on it. It's the 2.5L engine with what is presumably one of Nissan's CVT automatic transmissions and I'm just trying to go in prepared to turn around and run if something sneaky is going on with it, the car appears well taken care of from photos but obviously you can't be too careful. The owner is asking 5000 dollars for it. Is this a potential good buy or a nightmare waiting to happen? Any advice would be a great help.

It's a decent car because it DOESN"T have the CVT transmission.

One of the last years before Nissan went to CVT in the Altima

Check it out like you would any other used car.

They weren’t bad vehicles they do not have the cvt they started in the 2007 model year for the Altima the only thing those years were slightly more prone to was oil consumption but with that mileage and still on the road as long as it looks good it should be fine. I would just recommend having a mechanic you trust look at the car first
