I know from watching your YouTube show that you tend to like Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics for cars. What would you recommend in a 4X4 pickup truck 2018 to 2022 models? I won't buy Ford or GM as both companies have gone WOKE which I don't support. What about Toyota trucks?
(Although I don't find anything wrong with the messaging,)
I'd like to add more examples just to prove to OP that 100% of car companies do "virtue signaling":

Quite honestly, the only companies that makes a 4x4 from a company that doesn't do "activism" is the "长城风骏" but I don't think a Chinese car company aligns with those values either. The lack of virtue signaling has more to do with... "Government enforced Chinese values"
Lada still makes the NIVA 4x4 since the 70s with all of communist designed 75 horsepower engine - and here again, it has to do more with "Govement enforced Russian values".

Eh, just to drive the point home:
and the interment scenes in this ad:

All corporations who are sophisticated enough to build a good car,
engage in what ever marketing sells them the most new cars.
you base your vehicle purchase decisions on the product marketing?
Yes, to a large extent anymore you need to shop for companies that have strong traditional American values. Like why do you buy phone service from Verizon who supports wokeism and contributes to outfits like Planned Parenthood? I support companies like PureTalk. I won't spend money with a company that touts pronouns over performance.
As far as vehicle performance: what Scotty has said about the transmissions on full size GM truck offerings is unsettling; also some Ford engines are turning out to be junk (e.g.valves on the new Broncos). I'm leaning toward a Toyota product (Forerunner, Tacoma or Tundra PUs) but want to hear what Scotty says on these vehicles.
Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate the info. Maybe to buy a 2000 Subaru Forester.
To answer what truck to buy my suggestion is a Toyota Tacoma.
You will be paying a premium for a Toyota Truck. If you are going to keep it forever then get one. But if you are going to trade in every few years its a waste of money. I wouldn't mind a cheaper second hand F150. Ford/Gm/Ram can make decent trucks. I had a ram 1500. I got it for 25k brand new. I put 100k miles on it, then in 2021, I sold it back to the dealer for 19k. I had no issues with it. If I had gotten a Toyota I probably would have broken even in today's market. But Im not looking to hold trucks forever so reliability doesn't mean much for several years until after it's out of warranty. After I sold the truck, I got a 99 f150, decent truck had no major issues other than the general maintenance and wear and tear that one can expect from a 20+ year old truck.( It does have a small issue i'm trying to figure out). Don't pick a car based on marketing - pick what you feel you like, what's in your budget and what you will enjoy. One poster replied something about Subaru. I don't think Subaru makes a truck but if they did I wouldn't buy it. It doesn't matter to me who they support or how much their employees are paid. <Edited. Please keep the discussion on topic> So I disregard all that noise and focus on the product itself. The extra premium with a Toyota is worth it. But it's only worth it in the long run.
