Im buying an 01 Ford 150 super crew with about 149000 miles on it for 800. Worth it and what should I be aware of or look for besides the general mechanics and upkeeps procedures anything crucial I should think twice before I buy. Thanks

If you live in a rust prone area, the frame is your top priority. I have no rust in my '99 Ranger, but I wasn't fully aware of that until after it was too late. It runs and drives fine, and it's not too bad, yet. I towed the max weight on the bumper last year for a short distance, it was fine.

Either you or a mechanic needs to check it out with a scan tool. You didn't mention if it's an automatic or manual transmission. If it checks out, I would say go for it. $800 is nothing, nowadays.

They can be reliable if it's well taken care of. Be cautious whether if it's rusted or not. The tranny can be the weak part unless if it's a standard transmission.

800 is a steal, whether or not it's on its last legs. As others mentioned, as long as it's not a death trap with a rusty frame. If it breaks just junk it. however if you're looking for something more reliable and might last a bit longer, definitely get it checked out thoroughly
