Scotty, you often say that cars built in Japan are better because for whatever reason Japanese workers are more meticulous, etc. What exactly are the Japanese doing that makes an engine/tranny run for 300-400,000 miles vs. Americans running for 200,000?

They build quality and design quality that's what the difference is they're not just thinking about short-term profit

The first difference is between workers who care and workers who don't. Japanese people are educated differently from ours. I'd be hard to find a disrespectful Japanese kid. A disrespectful American kid is right down the street and he doesn't know how to wear his pants.

American automakers can't even get panel fitment right. I had Buicks and Fords before, the panels popped out of place when the weather changed. You make a $30,000 product and you can't even get the cosmetic part right? How am I supposed to trust parts in the engine and transmission????

i think all the components are better quality too, i have never had to replace an alternator, starter, etc on one made in Japan
