i live in small city 2000km away from Toronto, Ontario. Auto market is limited here. I have 2 options right now for car.
1 is 2016 Honda civic touring with 41k km in $18k. It has extended warranty till 2023 or 130k km and other one is 2018 mazda 3 GS with 15k km in $18k.
Which one should i go for...?

both are from honda and mazda dealership.

if it’s honda then what should i check in car before buying it.

Ok so both are not bad cars at all the Honda would be more reliable I would test them both out. Are there any mechanics in your area? If there are, have an experienced one do a pre-purchase inspection on one. The important thing with the Honda is the engine. Is it a 1.5 Turbo or 2.0 Naturally Aspirated engine? I would buy it if it is the 2.0 engine but the 1.5T has a lot more issues. That should be what you are looking for. You should also be looking at the condition of the transmission. If mechanically the Honda is in good shape, I would consider buying it. The Mazda is a decent car not as reliable as Honda but should go an easy 200k KM before anything major happens. Either way have a mechanic check it out if you can.

It's 1.5L with turbocharged. it's not certified but it's safetied. I will try to get a mechanic on this car I check for the codes there were none and none in freeze-frame codes. although fuel_rdy, cat_rdy, evap_rdy, o2s_rdy, egr_rdy was INC. I am no mechanic but I think that's because car was not driven for enough km.
or is it bad.? the guy at showroom said its not been fixed yet. they will fix everything after car owner is decided due to weather here very snowy.

I would consider Honda by far if the mechanic gives ok.
