Hello Scotty, keep up the good work, I look forward to your content every day. I have a double question to ask. My husband and I are thinking of getting a used SUV. We’ve settled on two vehicle at this dealership.

Which would be better?

2013 Lexus RX350 FSport 3.5L V6 AWD 94kmiles

2013 Toyota Highlander Limited 3.5L V6 AWD 43kmiles

They both are under $25k, which would be the better buy and how to keep either for many years.

I wouldn't buy at a dealer in general because they rip off by playing every game in the book. I would look at private parties for a better option.

If you twisted my arm against the wall and said that I will only buy at the dealer then I would say the Highlander. It's less overpriced than the Lexus and has less than 50k miles. Have a mechanic look it over because its AWD. Even AWD Toyotas can have issues.

Most definitely have a mechanic look at them first. The Highlander($23k)actually cost more than the Lexus($19k). I would prefer a 2wd version of either car. Unfortunately those two SUV are the lowest priced SUVs I’ve seen in my area. Believe it or not, Scotty is the reason why I’m looking at Toyota/Lexus. My husband wanted a Ford Edge/Explorer, I told him that even tho the vehicle showed me where NA V6s I think that we would get more life out of the Toyota products.

Well, the market is wild right now. If it were me, I'd probably get the Toyota for the cheaper maintenance and running costs. Both could be good, but as you said, have it inspected before you buy.

Both are good if your mechanic gives you a green light. Test drive bith and see what you like better. I would get the Highlander though, you get better bang for your buck.
