Which mustang should I buy?

Hey there Scotty! I drive a 1988 Toyota Sprinter AE-91 (it’s a Corolla twin) and I ‘d like to buy a Ford Mustang as a second car.

Should I buy a 1996 Ford Mustang v6 Manual? From a dealership that costs 6000 Dollars and has 150.000 miles?

Or should I buy a 2017 Ford Mustang Ecoboost, also with Manual Transmission, at a price of 20.000 dollars, also from a dealership and it has 50.000 miles on.

Ps1. I ‘d like to keep that Mustang for a really long time, my Sprinter has 190.000 and I had recently had to change factory Brake Rotors.

ps2. Greetings from Bolivia, here in my country cars are expensive :(

I personally like the V8 but I would pick the v6 over the EcoBoost because the EcoBoost do not hold up over time they are fast with the standard transmission yes but they do not hold up as they age

I would stay away from ecoboost.

Get the 5.0 for a serious performance nut

DO NOT buy a Coyote 5.0L V8. I can not stress that enough. Yeah they make good power....for a very, very short amount of time.

If you want bullet proof, the mid to late 90's 4.6L 2V V8's were tanks. Slow, but cheap to buy, repair, maintain, upgrade, and arguably the best sounding V8 Ford ever produced. All of the 2015+ Mustangs have A/C condenser issues which, when it goes out, is a $3000 job out of warranty. Plenty of info out there if you Google search it.

And EcoBoost is just a no.

I own a 2013 5.0, and have heard no true issues with them. Though, I only have 17k miles on it so far. lol

@JamesTheWiz I believe Mod_Man was referring to the 3rd Gen Coyote (model year 2018+). The one in yours is more robust than the newer ones.

Thank God on that one. I thought I may have missed something. lol I am seriously happy with my 5.0, and hope she purrs all the way. I mean, I was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. So, definitely a big step up. lol
