I have a automatic transmission 2006 Honda CR-V and I just noticed there is a little bit of whistle after I drive the car for more than an hour. The strength of the whistle is proportional to the rpm - when I accelerate the whistle increases, and when the car is cruising there is a subtle whistle too.
I recently changed the muffler because it had a bad and loud whistling noise from the previous owner and it was running fine. I'm hoping the muffler guy didn't fit the new muffler properly, and I really hope its the muffler, not some expensive part. The noise starts after driving for a fair while.
What do you guys think is going on?
