I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra SR5 5.7. Whenever I use the heat on my truck, there is small white flakes coming out of the vents. When the fan speed is low it barely comes out but when I put the fan at max it’s pretty much snowing inside of my truck. I’ve looked online and it appears that the evaporator needs to be replaced. Is this true?

Whenever I use the heat
possibly dried up coolant on a leaky heater core?

Unless you're seeing ice flakes (not likely when using the heater) you have some kind of contamination in the ductwork or the casing for the heater core and evaporator. Possibly some kind of insulation is working loose.
The only reason to replace the evaporator would be if it were leaking refrigerant.
