I have an automatic 2012 Ford Fusion Sport AWD with almost 89,000 miles. I’ve had nothing but problems with it since I bought it used from a dealer 2 years ago with 65,000 miles. The day I was supposed to pick it up, I got a call that the dealer had to get a recall done that they didn’t know about until they plugged it in for the NYS inspection. After I had it for two days, I was heading an hour away for an appointment and smoke started pouring out of the back on the highway. I pulled over and called the dealership. They had it towed and told me I picked something up on the highway and it put a hole in one transmission line and caused all the fluid to leak out onto the exhaust. When I got it back, the paperwork stated they replaced all the transmission lines which I thought was funny. After owning it for 1.5 years, it started to drive funny and make weird noises. I had my personal mechanic look at it and my drive shaft was rotting and was crumbling apart severely from rust. My rear differential was leaking really bad as well. The dealer took it back in under the warranty and replaced everything after they gave me the run around for 18 days and breaking two parts and lying about it. Now, my check engine light is on (don’t have the code yet) and my engine oil smells like lighter fluid. What would cause my oil to smell like that? It definitely doesn’t smell like gas. But I know it’s not normal and it’s a strong smell.
sounds like they're a bunch of clowns who knows what they damage doing all that work I would get an independent mechanic to check it out to see if they have damaged something generally though lighter fluid is a type of petrochemical and it normally means you have a oil dilution inside the engine
