In the first digit of VINs, 1, 4, & 5 are all USA. Why do we have three different numbers? I tried searching all over the internet but couldn’t find an answer. Yes, we’re very special, I know, but other than that… 😁

because the VIN was invented in the USA but there was no standard at the beginning.
