Chevy Cruze - 2013 - Eco
Bought in 2020 - 77.000 miles for 4000 in Miami
Drove to Chicago (what I'm at now)
Now it has 99.000 miles
Every time I look around this car is giving me problems, like literally after I get one thing fixed, another problem happen the next day. (Sometime I think the mechanic's I go to are purposely sabotaging me)
Anyways my recent issue is my car is overheating AGAIN after I got my new radiator. And fan (the fan is not working also, have to take back and get fixed it refund)
My coolant is emptying (really slow) every morning it goes down a gauge length
I can still drive it. There is no leaks.
?? I don't know what is going on
Now the guy who fixed my radiator is saying I could have a blown engine head gasket. I think he is just trying to get my money and lying and it's going to make a problem purposely
I'm going to another mechanic to ask them first before I take it back to him to fix my fan.
But it's wierd. What do you think. I would really appreciate your opinion and if you have a shop or mechanic in the Chicago/Illinois area I will love to do business with you. Thank you Scott 🙏🏼
Your mechanic might be correct. Get yourself a test kit and check the head gasket.
If you already changed the radiator, radiator cap, and there are no visible leaks (near the water pump, thermostat), it might well be the head gasket starting to go..
Test it easily -
Does the dip stick or oil filler cap look like chocolate milk? If so, you have a blown head gasket. Did the "mechanic" who "fixed" your radiator properly burp the air out of the system? If not, it'll run hot.
